While trekking through the Aurlandsfjellet mountains of western Norway, a hiker recently found an enormous reindeer trap that dates back 1,500 years. Amongst the wooden logs, archaeologists uncovered other items as well, including several sets of well-preserved reindeer antlers

This monumental Etruscan pyramid-shaped altar in Bomarzo, Italy, was hidden by vegetation on the slopes of a deep canyon and was only discovered for the first time in the 1990s, by 2 local archaeologists. The pyramid is believed to be an altar dating back to the 7th or 6th centuries BCE

In 2017, during construction work at an IKEA parking garage near the Via Tiburtina, in Rome, archaeologists uncovered the remains of a Roman road, believed to have been used between the 2nd-4th centuries CE, and which still bore the marks of wagon wheels carved into its stone surface
