While trekking through the Aurlandsfjellet mountains of western Norway, a hiker recently found an enormous reindeer trap that dates back 1,500 years. Amongst the wooden logs, archaeologists uncovered other items as well, including several sets of well-preserved reindeer antlers

A remarkably well-preserved Roman sarcophagus has been discovered in Budapest. The sarcophagus was found with its stone lid still fixed in place, secured by metal clamps and molten lead. When archaeologists lifted the lid, they found a complete skeleton surrounded by dozens of artifacts.

Iranian and German archaeologists have discovered a 3,000-year-old kohl in Iran, containing no traces of organics like those in Egypt, but showing traces of graphite and manganese oxide. This unprecedented formula, which was far ahead of its time, gave the eyes a shiny, metallic luster.
